Buddy’s Canker Frog Resection

Buddy, a 17-year-old Standardbred gelding presented to Dr. Michael Fugaro of Mountain Pointe Equine with canker, a debilitating infectious process causing enlargement of the horn-producing tissue of the equine hoof. As you can see from the video below, the infection was pervasive. Dr. Fugaro resected Buddy’s frog on December 1st, 2020, and then applied AniCell’s StemWrap and StemWrap D sixty days later on February 4th, 2021. The results are remarkable.

“Two months after canker resection, the cornification of the granulation tissue of the resected frog dramatically stagnated despite a multitude of topical products,” said Dr. Fugaro. “AniCell’s Stemwrap products stimulated the cornification process in a few weeks allowing for a normal frog to develop.”
