Ava’s Rattlesnake Encounter
Ava, a female spayed, 9lb, 6-year-old wirehair dachshund has always been curious. Imagine her surprise when she was inspecting a bush at her home and was bitten by a rattlesnake. Ava was then rushed to her veterinarian and was given 8 vials of antivenom to counteract the poison. That did not stop the necrosis of the majority of her left upper lip. Ava was then taken to Village Animal Hospital in Phoenix and Dr. Ann Goldhammer used CanisCell StemWrap-D to inject around the wound margins to prevent further necrosis and enable the wound to heal.
