Trainer Spotlight: Sinead Imbaro and Magnus

For many years, AniCell has continued to forge ahead with our technology experimenting with the natural characteristics of birth-tissue products. Our significant investment in research continues to bear fruit in novel products from addressing post-breeding endometritis with a 300 horse study at Rood & Riddle, Hagyard, and Clayborne Farms to using the product to address exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage. AniCell’s team continues to be committed to solid science and the development of all-natural regenerative products to tackle some of animal health’s most challenging issues. Stay tuned as the results of these studies get published.

AniCell and USDA: Recent partnership at Fonner Park Racetrack in Nebraska

Equine veterinarians, horse owners, or anyone who lives near a large racetrack or horse show grounds knows about EHV-1 and the devastating effects this virus can have. It’s highly transmissible through aerosolized droplets (sneezing) or cross-contamination from horses sharing water buckets, toys, and even eating treats from the same unwashed hand that just fed another horse who has the virus. It tends to sweep through barns very quickly, and can sometimes progress to a neurologic form (EHM) which often necessitates euthanasia. Recently the USDA contacted us to help out during a widespread outbreak of EHV-1 at Fonner Park Racetrack in Grand Island, Nebraska to see if our new antiviral support product originally developed for animal parvovirus could offer some hope. The team at AniCell developed a full-on clinical trial to address the 112 horses in the barn impacted by the neurological strain of the virus that had already claimed 2 horses’ lives by the time we arrived. The USDA, the Nebraska state veterinarian, horse owners, trainers, and backstretch workers were a pleasure to work with during two weeks of long days following stringent testing, administering the formulation, sample collections, and reviewing findings during the course of our stay. The samples were processed by an independent laboratory (UC Davis) and the results at this time have shown virus eradication by day 7. The response from these horses, including some very, very sick horses, goes along with everything we’ve seen stemming from the research and field trials done by our longtime partner in all things amnion, Dr. Rob Holland who first discovered how effectively our special formulation can help the body combat viruses such as Parvo and later, FIP. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in this project. Helping animals is why we do what we do, and we are incredibly grateful to have had this opportunity to assist. Stay tuned for the published data on this new product.

AAEP Feature on Dr. Tammi Epp

Join us for 2 RACE-Approved virtual CE credits

Last year, the American Association of Veterinary State Boards RACE committee approved AniCell’s Program “Use of Amniotic Material in Regenerative Medicine” (Program Number: 1559-41674) for 2 CE credits including Interactive-Distance Learning as a delivery method. To date, we have trained nearly a thousand veterinarians and vet techs on the regenerative benefits of amnion.

Our 90-minute course is held live via ZOOM and discusses the science and history behind the therapeutic use of amnion in wound management as well as a veterinarian-led Q&A session. The second half of the session will feature guest veterinarians presenting several personal small and large animal cases demonstrating clinical applications of AniCell’s amnion on a variety of indications including superficial wounds, fractured bones, tendon and ligament lesions, joint issues, and corneal ulcers.

Our 2 CE credit course focuses on the science of amnion along with real-life case presentations and plenty of opportunity for Q&A during the presentation.

Next Seminar Dates:

Thursday, April 21st, 2022 at 7:30 PM EDT

Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 at 8:30 PM EDT

Trainer Spotlight

Sinead Imbaro and Magnus

This very handsome pup may look very familiar to you. Sinead and her partner Magnus, an 8-yr-old Belgian Malinois have received countless accolades for their work in search, rescue and recovery. Most recently, they assisted during the horrific Champlain Towers collapse in Surfside, Florida, receiving a key to Estero City for their honorable work. Sinead and Magnus recently received the prestigious 2021 AKC Humane Fund Awards for Canine Excellence Search-and-Rescue. Sinead chose AniCell for Magnus to help combat some of the wear and tear that’s part of his very active job as a service dog. We’re grateful that Sinead and her veterinarian, Dr. Michael Claudio chose AniCell to help keep Magnus comfortable and active to continue doing this important work. Thank you Sinead!
