Filly with Leg De-gloving

anicell-hexagon

Dr. Jason Errico DVM, DACVS of Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center in Penryn, California had a 2-year-old filly with a severe distal-limb de-gloving wound to the right-hind leg.  Because of the bone exposure and the need to promote rapid granulation over the wound, Dr. Errico reached for the EquusCell StemWrap line to address this wound.

“From day 20 on the granulation bed was very proliferative…. over growing most of the skin margins. I think the wound did very well proliferating over the bone. Faster with the wrap than what I would have expected.”  —  Dr. Jason Errico

Wound Inspection & Debridement on July 6th, 2016 – 47 Days After Application

While most injuries only require a single application of AniCell Products, complicated injuries such those that are overly infected, have exposed bone or larger than 10x10cm may require a second application.

Second StemWrap Application on July 6th, 2016 – 47 Days After Initial Application

“Here are the pics after the second application of Stem-Wrap with the additional StemWrap plus injection.  I debrided the granulation bed to below skin level and then wrapped for about 12-18 hours. The next day I lightly debrided the granulation surface and then injected the StemWrap plus at 3,6,19 and 12 o’clock positions into the healthy subcutaneous wound margin via the granulation bed. I then applied the StemWrap.”  — Dr. Jason Errico
